(PRWEB) February 24, 2009 -- DiscountElectronics.com, one of America's leading providers of refurbished Dell computer equipment, announced the purchase of a building located at 9711 Manchaca Road, Austin, Texas 78748 consisting of approximately 7,800sf of retail space.
"This store will service a portion of Austin that could not easily shop at the Anderson Lane location." Although these stores will be only 19 miles apart, Austin's traffic can make it a 90 minute round trip journey between the two. "We found that, as much as we are a destination shopping location, people who live as far South as Manchaca and beyond just are not making the trip to our Anderson Lane store, no matter how much money they stand to save."
DisountElectronics.com has seen it sales double in the past 24 months. In the last 10 years, sales have grown from less than $500,000.00 to over $7 million. The company, that opened its doors in 1997 with just 3 employees, will have 70 when this store is complete. Manchaca will employ 14 additional people, some of which are already being trained at the Anderson Lane store.
The new 9711 Manchaca location will be a carbon copy of the North store offering the same inventory of Dell computers, laptops, parts, accessories and repair. It is certain to have the same artistic flair as the original store. Nathan Jensen is hard at work designing the Murals that will grace the walls shortly after opening. For the first couple weeks patrons may have the pleasure of witnessing the famous artist at work. The store is expected to open in March of 2009.
Over $1 million in financing for the purchase of the building was provided by BBVA Compass. "I was amazed how fast they got this done." said CEO Rick Culleton. "I have never seen a bank work so hard and so fast. We will close this deal 15 days after it was presented to Compass Bank."
DiscountElectronics.com has been on the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America the past two years and was added to Austin Business Journal's 'Fast 50' in 2008.
