"Back in the day, the labels were responsible for getting your records pressed and your music sold. They also promoted your music across multiple platforms," Mr. Jett said. "But, today, the music labels are all but gone. It's up to the artist to promote themselves and online music marketing is where it's at."

Skyler Jett also shared with AD Publishing.org, LLC a bit more on his belief about how stars are made and what it takes to actually be a star these days. He enlightened us on how online music marketing can surpass the way in which the old promotion models work and will be the model for the future.

An eye-opening feature of the interview also talked about Mr. Skyler Jett's upcoming release of his new book about the mega-star Sly Stone, called "From the Inside Out". The book, slated for release in the second quarter of 2009, tells the story of Sly Stone of "Sly and the Family Stone" from the perspective of inside the family.
