Boston, MA (Vocus) February 24, 2009

Jenzabar®, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, and Bank Street College of Education, which offers continuing education, graduate degrees, and education for children, have been named as finalists for the prestigious Learning Impact Recognition and Awards. Facilitated by IMS Global Learning Consortium, Inc., the award nomination credits the school’s implementation of Jenzabar’s Learning Management System (Jenzabar LMS) for creating an optimal online learning environment.

The Learning Impact program was initiated by the IMS Global Learning Consortium for the purpose of recognizing outstanding applications of technology that address the most significant challenges facing the global education and learning industries. The final judging for the awards will take place on May 11 at the Learning Impact Conference in Barcelona, Spain.

The IMS Consortium recognizes the use of Jenzabar’s Learning Management System along with Jenzabar’s Internet portal, Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution (JICS), which provides Bank Street College constituents with a single point of access to e-learning, online self-service, and a range of communication and community-building tools. The numerous online learning functionalities for traditional, blended, and distance learning offer Bank Street’s tech-savvy community the latest Web-based capabilities.

“Bank Street College implemented Jenzabar’s Learning Management System to manage its courseware and offer an ideal online learning environment to our constituents,” says Frank Nuara, Vice President for Finance and Administration at Bank Street College of Education. “Jenzabar LMS and JICS are now widely used by students and faculty, allowing ongoing and timely communications to occur throughout the learning experience. We are excited about presenting at the Learning Impact Conference and honored to be acknowledged by the IMS Global Learning Consortium as a finalist.”

Jenzabar’s Learning Management System provides Web-based tools and strategies to supplement or replace traditional classroom learning, meeting the growing demand for online learning and distance education. Jenzabar LMS allows faculty to update grades, assign online quizzes, track attendance, create and monitor course groups, and much more from any computer with Internet access. In conjunction with the institution’s student information system, Jenzabar LMS will populate the respective student and faculty accounts in Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution portal with their courses, schedules, descriptions, class lists and pre-populated gradebooks. The Web-based system provides 24-hour access to course documents, announcements, Web links, syllabi, threaded discussions, and real-time chat.

“Jenzabar is very pleased and proud that Jenzabar LMS has been recognized as a finalist for the Learning Impact Awards,” said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Jenzabar. “This recognition reflects our dedication to higher education and our commitment to making continuous technology advancements based on customer feedback and best practices in education.”
