How the Economic Recession is Affecting Professional Home Cleaning Companies

On Thursday February 26, 2009, leaders in the residential cleaning industry will come together to discuss how the current economic situation is affecting home cleaning companies. Owners of professional home cleaning service companies will have the opportunity to join in on the discussion to gain insight on this important topic.

Home Cleaner Magazine has invited a panel of seasoned industry experts in the professional home cleaning industry to discuss the impact of the current economical situation is having on house cleaning and maid service companies.

An Industry wide conference call is set for Thursday February 26th at 4:00PM EST. The panel of industry leaders will share insights from their years of experience in the home cleaning industry, engage in an open discussion with attendees and take questions from participating house cleaning company owners.

"There seems to be a dual reality out there," said Home Cleaner Magazine Publisher Perry Phillips, "service owners in hard hit areas of the country are feeling the effects in a big way, but there are many reporting that they have not been affected at all and even in some cases showing growth over last year. I have assembled this panel to pool this vast amount of knowledge and experience in the industry to discuss what we are up against as an industry, perhaps calm some frayed nerves and provide insight from the panel about to best deal with current conditions and what may be on the economic horizon for our industry."

In a recent Home Cleaner Magazine survey, residential cleaning service owners reported the following: 10% said they have not seen any affects of the economy on their business, 65% said they have been impacted some and 25% reported that they have been greatly affected by the economy. The reasons given for the affects outlined were due to 20% reporting that their geographical area has suffered tremendous job loss. 55% reported that they have had customers cancel their service not because of lost jobs or income, but simply because they felt they should be "cutting back" personal expenses. Another 5% reported they have had no cancellations due to the economy.
