Hollywood, California (PRWEB) February 26, 2009
Award winning author/actor Raymond Lumsden was awarded a film production contract today for his 2006 screenplay "Beneath The Light," which was originally produced as an independent film with the modest budget of just seventy five thousand dollars. The film failed to be released due to contract legalities associated with the writer's strike in 2007-2008, which kept Hollywood in a deadlock for months. The new production contract will transition the independent film to a full scale SAG venue consisting of a 30 million dollar budget, and a highly respected cast and crew ensemble.
Lumsden achieved early acting credits by appearing on numerous television shows, such as, Prison Break, CSI Miami, and Grey's Anatomy. Additionally, Lumsden has appeared in numerous independent films, such as, If I Could Paint A Picture, The Dead Don't Scream, Dallas Confidential, and Beneath The Light. Coincidentally, Lumsden has previously signed a lucrative production contract to have his first book, "Stronger By The Day" adapted into a major motion picture to begin filming in March of 2010. Lumsden also wrote the screenplay for the book, and will also co-star in the film.
Lumsden will effectively be able to assert himself as a dual threat by both writing the screenplays for, and also co-starring in both films shooting in 2010. Agents for Lumsden have informed that his soon to be released second book "Stronger Than Ever" will also be adapted to screenplay, and aggressively optioned for production. Lumsden is currently at work writing the documentary screenplay for his third book titled "Now Hiring," which addresses the Civil Rights concerns of the American Prison Labor Systems. Lumsden is also very passionate about bringing this documentary to film. Lumsden is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, as well as the Writers Guild of America.
