The opportunity to tap into the expertise of people like Joe and Todd enables our organization to provide Missouri teachers with the practical knowledge they need to create an exceptional personal finance learning environment in Missouri classrooms.
Kansas City, Missouri (PRWEB) February 27, 2009 -
The Missouri Council on Economic Education (MCEE) announced today that it has formed a partnership with The ETF Store. In connection with the partnership, The ETF Store will provide MCEE with ongoing financial support and participate in various educational initiatives sponsored by the not-for-profit organization.
ETF Store founder and chief executive officer Joe Massman and ETF Store vice-president of sales Todd Bukaty already provided training in the areas of saving and investing on Jan. 29 to a group of teachers at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. The session was part of a series of teacher workshops hosted by the University of Missouri-Kansas City Center for Economic Education, an affiliate of MCEE. The Fed workshops provided teachers with an understanding of course materials they will use when teaching high school personal finance courses that are required for all Missouri students planning to graduate in 2010 or later. There are approximately 58,000 graduates from Missouri schools each year.
"The current crisis in the U.S. financial system reveals just how important economic education is at all ages," said Mike English, president and CEO of MCEE. "The opportunity to tap into the expertise of people like Joe and Todd enables our organization to provide Missouri teachers with the practical knowledge they need to create an exceptional personal finance learning environment in Missouri classrooms."
Massman, who is also a member of the board of directors of the MCEE, added, "Promoting economic literacy is a core value of The ETF Store. One of reasons I started the company was I thought there was a tremendous need to show people how to invest intelligently. We are thrilled to be able to help Mike in his initiatives - there couldn't be a more important time to support his organization."
