February 27, 2009 -- Sentry Telecare, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Town of Bethany Beach, Delaware today activated the Sentry Telecare telephone check-in service. Under the R.U.O.K. program operated by the Town of Bethany Beach six citizens are now receiving a daily check-in call from the Sentry Telecare service.

"We needed to find a service that offered a reliable and efficient solution to our need to determine if some of our citizens who live alone were okay or needed assistance. Following a period of investigation and testing we knew that Sentry Telecare could provide such a service," said Ralph Mitchell, Director of Public Safety for the Town of Bethany Beach.

Working with each citizen that is to receive the daily call, the Town administrators tailor a call schedule that suits the needs of the person to receive the call. If the call is not responded to, or the person requests assistance, a protocol is automatically initiated that results in a designated person going to the residence and determining the status of the check-in call recipient.

The Sentry Telecare telephone check-in service is enabled and driven by the sophisticated integration of internet and telephone technologies that is provided by Sentry Telecare's technology partner, IVRnet Inc. "If the person receiving the check-in call does not respond appropriately, or requests assistance, the Bethany Beach Police Department is called immediately and asked to investigate. The Police department also receives an email notification and a fax notification," said Jon Constable, President of Sentry Telecare.
