The 7 on 7 passing game is growing rapidly across the United States as an opportunity for skill-position football players to work on their football skills in the off-season. Athlitis is leading the way in the Northeast in providing the highest quality 7 on 7 events for high school football players. The 7 on 7 Skills Match-up provides high school football players the venue to continue enhancing their skills through the many repetitions available in a fast-paced passing game gaining valuable experience during the spring and summer. Kick-off for the Athlitis 7 on 7 Skills Match-up is set for June 2009. More details regarding Athlitis and the 7 on 7 Skills Match-up events can be found on The Athlitis website at (http://www.theathlitis.com).
The Athlitis 7 on 7 Skills Match-up follows a school-based system for all 7 on 7 teams which helps create better team chemistry between quarterbacks, receivers, and running backs and on the defensive side for linebackers, cornerbacks, and safeties to better preparing them for their fall seasons. So team registration is recommended.
The mission for Athlitis is to provide young high school football athletes in the Northeast with more venues and opportunities to improve their skills and showcase their talent to college coaches and recruiters early on in their high school careers and throughout. Athlitis is committed to actively engage with college coaches by inviting them to their scheduled events so young athletes in the Northeast are getting as much exposure as possible. The Northeast is not considered a hot-bed for football talent to many of the big college football programs. States like California, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio have always been considered the big football states and one important reason is because these states provide many venues and opportunities like 7 on 7 competitions for athletes to improve their skills and at the same time its provide more opportunities for these athletes to increase their exposure because its giving college coaches more chances to see and uncover more talent. Football in the Northeast is seen too much as a seasonal sport, and when skill and technique are so essential in the sport, seasonal practice is just not enough. These athletes need more venues to perfect their skills. This event will be the premier skill showcase sporting venue in the Northeast for high school football athletes during the off-season.
"I've seen on too many occasions great athletes from the Northeast being over-looked by some of the big college football programs just because of their geographic location", states Jerome Tomlin, President and Founder of Athlitis. Mr. Tomlin followed that statement with, "many of the college coaches throughout the country consider the Northeast lacking in high school football tenacity, and to be honest in some regards, I concur with that sentiment. I want to help change that sentiment!"
