Free Program By Westchester Chordsmen Chorus Teaches Men Ages 16 and Up to Sing

The Westchester Chordsmen Chorus (www.chordsmen.org) will begin an innovative new program for men who want to take their singing from the shower to the stage. "Learn 2 Sing" (www.westchesterL2S.org), is a five week program exclusively for men in Westchester and Fairfield Counties and The Bronx, who love to sing and have the desire to take it to the next level and become experienced musicians and performers.

White Plains, N.Y. (PRWEB) March 3, 2009 -- Beginning Monday, March 9, the Westchester Chordsmen Chorus (www.chordsmen.org) will begin a free program for men who want to take their singing from the shower to the stage. "Learn 2 Sing" (www.westchesterL2S.org), is a five week program exclusively for men in Westchester and Fairfield Counties and The Bronx, who love to sing and have the desire to take it to the next level and become experienced musicians and performers.

The program is open to men ages 16 and older; singing experience is helpful but not required. And, participants don't have to read music either. Learn 2 Sing features ten hours of free voice development taught by the Westchester Chordsmen Chorus Director, Keith Harris, and associate directors. The two hour course meetings begin Monday, March 9 from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Highlands Middle School in White Plains, and continue for five consecutive weeks each Monday through April 6. Participants will learn the fundamentals of singing and harmony. For the last session and graduation, students will perform with the award-winning Westchester Chordsmen Chorus.

During those five weeks, aspiring singers will learn two songs, practicing and performing them individually and in quartets. Lessons will consist of warm-up sessions, instruction, break-out groups for learning and fine-tuning musical parts. Class materials include free music, instructional hand-outs and free practice audio files on CDs. In addition, participants will have a Chordsmen member as a mentor for support and guidance.

"We love to sing and we want to share our passion with the community," said Keith Harris, Westchester Chordsmen director. "This is our way to say thank you for 55 years of support and offer this terrific opportunity for men who love to sing."

To find out more about Learn 2 Sing, please call Alan Ferris at 914-271-4648 or visit http://www.westchesterL2S.org to register online.
