Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, Inc., will be on ABC's Dancing with the Stars. The two hour season premiere is March 9th at 8:00pm/7:00central. Wozniak's speaking agency, New Leaf Speakers, has created Team Woz, iDance and Vote for Woz T-shirts. All profits earned (itemized in each shirt's description) will go to the Friendship Network for Children. Click here to buy T-Shirt
Wozniak has a history of philanthropic ventures and his speaking agency is following suit. Amy Morganti, owner of New Leaf Speakers, searched for the right nonprofit to align with and chose The Friendship Network for Children. "My husband and I have twin nieces who are 5 years old who have been diagnosed with autism...so your focus is very near and dear to our hearts," Morganti told Nancy Swanberg, Executive Director of the Organization.
The Friendship Network for Children serves over 100 children with autism weekly. "All children should be allowed the gift of friendship," explains Swanberg. "Friendship is Possible" is the Network's motto. Swanberg founded the organization to decrease the extreme loneliness and isolation that often goes untreated in children with autism.
