It is an honor to be recognized by my peers and to receive awards from both ShareASale and Affiliate Summit. The support from the affiliate community has been overwhelming. It is truly an honor. Thank you for the awards and for the support over the past year

In two separate awards, Melanie Seery of NYAffiliateVoice.com has been recognized for her advocacy work on behalf of the affiliate marketing industry. Her dedication to various issues impacting affiliates and the affiliate marketing industry has garnered top honors from both the ShareASale network and Affiliate Summit, Inc.
In December 2008, Brian Littleton, Founder and President of ShareASale, announced the winners of the first annual ShareASale Performance Awards. For 2008 there were six different award categories including the Pay It Forward Award. The Pay It Forward Award was created to recognize an individual from the internet marketing industry who is doing something positive and special to better the industry and the community; this year two individuals were recognized for their contributions. The 2008 ShareASale Pay It Forward Awards were awarded to Melanie Seery of http://NYAffiliateVoice.com in recognition of her work as an industry advocate and to Missy Ward of Affiliate Summit, Inc., in recognition of her dedication to fundraising activities.
Recognition of her advocacy work for the affiliate marketing industry continued in Las Vegas at the Affiliate Summit West 2009 Pinnacle Awards when Melanie Seery was named The 2009 Affiliate Marketing Advocate of the Year. Affiliate Summit, Inc., founded by Shawn Collins and Missy Ward, is the premier conference for the affiliate marketing industry. Each year during the Affiliate Summit West conference they take time to recognize the leaders in the industry. Each October members of the affiliate industry name their nominations for the various awards and in December finalists are chosen by the Affiliate Summit Advisory Board. The board then selects the final winner just prior to Affiliate Summit West. The Affiliate Marketing Advocate Award is given in recognition of the work, effort and dedication to improving the industry. Previous winners were Brian Littleton, Founder and President of ShareASale (2007) and Haiko de Poel Jr., Founder and CEO ABestWeb.com (2008).
"It is an honor to be recognized by my peers and to receive awards from both ShareASale and Affiliate Summit. The support from the affiliate community has been overwhelming. It is truly an honor. Thank you for the awards and for the support over the past year," said Seery. "When NY Affiliates began to fight to save their businesses, I started http://NYAffiliateVoice.com to share some of what we were all going through. I felt the need to have my voice heard but am surprised as to the extent it was heard. We have made tremendous strides in the affiliate industry in using our voices to help strengthen and improve the industry but we still have work to do. I look forward to continuing my advocacy work."
Ms Seery owns NYAffiliateVoice.com, a popular blog in which she speaks out on various issues impacting the affiliate industry. She participates in many affiliate marketing and industry events. In July 2008, Melanie Seery and Kevin Webster chaired the Albany meeting of NY Affiliates held to work on solving the problems caused by the NY Internet tax. Ms Seery also attends Affiliate Summit and in addition to serving as a mentor to new attendees, Ms Seery participated as a panelist at the NY Affiliate Tax Issues and Solutions session at Affiliate Summit East in August 2008. In October, she attended her third ShareASale Think Tank and led a roundtable discussion on the NY tax issue. Seery has also been a guest of various podcasts to talk about industry issues and was recently profiled in Revenue Magazine. Her advocacy work extends past the affiliate industry through participation in tutoring, volunteer work and fundraising activities.
When addressing the various issues on NY Affiliate Voice, Seery combines her opinions with an objective overview of the facts and always reminds her readers to speak their mind because their opinion matters.
"NYAffiliateVoice.com has grown over the last ten months; it began as a personal blog and developed into a resource. As I worked on the NY issue I realized how important it is for everyone to speak out and discuss all the issues. When we met in Albany to address the NY tax issue, we demonstrated that by working together towards a common goal, we can accomplish great things. The first step is to speak openly and honestly. Every voice is important, and working together, great things are possible," said Seery.
