The United States Organizations for Bankruptcy Alternatives (USOBA), a trade association that represents the debt negotiation industry and advocates for fair regulation and protection of consumers, is proud to announce the nine new chairpersons heading up USOBA’s newly formed committees.
The new committees were created to maximize the potential of USOBA and its membership. USOBA Executive Director Jenna Keehnen is confident the committees’ work will help turn the debt settlement industry’s image
“The negative image the industry has is unwarranted,” Keehnen said. “This is an excellent opportunity for USOBA and its members to debunk this false impression of debt settlement companies.”
The co-chairs for the Public Relations Committee are Alan Silverberg of Credit Counseling, Inc in Sunrise, Florida and John Ansbach of EFA Processing, located in Dallas, Texas.
Heather Carmichael from Credit Solutions, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is the new chairperson for the Legislative Committee. Creditor Relations, the committee that aims to better solidify relationships between creditors, debt buyers, collection agencies and other industry participants and USOBA, is now chaired by Nikki Creel of Debt Professionals of America based in Dallas, Texas.
USOBA is the debt settlement industry’s oldest trade association, dedicated to the advancement of consumer protection in the debt settlement industry. It was founded by leading members in the debt settlement industry seeking representation outside of credit counseling and bankruptcy law. USOBA brings individual representation together as a united front to protect the debt settlement industry and to secure its future. USOBA is committed to working with and providing information to legislatures, regulators, consumers, creditors, and governmental bodies to help them attain a better understanding of the industry.
