USOBA Announces Committee Chairs

Houston TX (Vocus/PRWEB ) March 3, 2009 -- The United States Organizations for Bankruptcy Alternatives (USOBA), a trade association that represents the debt negotiation industry and advocates for fair regulation and protection of consumers, is proud to announce the nine new chairpersons heading up USOBA’s newly formed committees.

The new committees were created to maximize the potential of USOBA and its membership. USOBA Executive Director Jenna Keehnen is confident the committees’ work will help turn the debt settlement industry’s image
around.

The co-chairs for the Public Relations Committee are Alan Silverberg of Credit Counseling, Inc in Sunrise, Florida and John Ansbach of EFA Processing, located in Dallas, Texas.

Heather Carmichael from Credit Solutions, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is the new chairperson for the Legislative Committee. This committee is responsible for plotting the course for the legislative season, and has been effectively doing so since January. Currently there are 14 states with active legislation that may impact and possibly regulate the debt settlement industry.

The Better Business Bureau Committee, the committee that will focus on improving relations between the debt settlement industry and BBB’s across the country, has two chairpersons: Gil Medieros of New Horizons Debt Relief, located in Aliso Viejo, CA and Corey Butcher from Financial Freedom of America in Dallas, TX

The new Vendor Relations chair is Michael Hendrix of Global Client Solutions based in Tulsa, OK. This committee will focus on creating best practice standards for the industry vendors and promoting compliance throughout the vendor membership.

Sarah Leineke and Julie Leineke both of Nationwide Debt Settlement located in Phoenix, Arizona are the appointed co-chairs for the Membership Committee. This committee will focus on creating tools, products, and services for USOBA membership as well as seeking new ways to reach potential members.

Creditor Relations, the committee that aims to better solidify relationships between creditors, debt buyers, collection agencies and other industry participants and USOBA, is now chaired by Nikki Creel of Debt Professionals of America based in Dallas, Texas.
