Two Denver Entrepreneurs Launch Tag Your Glass to Help Partygoers Keep Track of Their Drinks

Novel new product is a twist on old, stand-by wine charms

Whether your drink of choice is beer, a stiff martini, a super dry Chianti or just a cup of tea, we all set our drinks down at social gatherings and inevitably lose track of them. Wine charms, the sometimes cute and downright kitschy baubles that identify someone's glass of wine, are, well, charming, but they don't work on any glass without a stem. And if you're drinking your beverage of choice out of a bottle or can, there's virtually no way to identify that it's yours. What's a partygoer to do?

Two avid hostesses from Denver, Colo., knew there was a better way. Sheryl Hinton and Heather Greenwood are friends and business partners who came up with a novel concept for marking and identifying glasses at parties. Both women liked the idea of wine charms but didn't like that they only fit stemmed glasses. Hinton and Greenwood thought perhaps a sticker would work well, but they didn't like that stickers were disposable. After researching different materials, static-cling vinyl seemed the best choice. It's a durable material that sticks to any smooth surface and is reusable again and again. Tag Your Glass was born.

Beyond the utility of marking a glass at a party, however, the women wanted their new product to be different, fun and entertaining - a product that was functional and reusable and could add a little life to the party.

"Why not mix some personality with function?" said Greenwood. "As a result, we designed themes for Tag Your Glass that would not only give the product a fresh look, but also would be great conversation starters at parties."

Currently Tag Your Glass comes in eight themes, ranging from fun and chic to edgy and provocative. "Alter Ego" tags for both guys and gals, include tags emblazoned with "sassy," "flirt," "dreamy," "whipped," "jock," and even "slut." Tag Your Glass "Alter Ego" tags tell fellow partygoers what kind of person is really holding that fruity pink cocktail.

Sophisticated designs with a retro twist show your stylish side, while "Word Play" shows your intellectual side. Other themes include "Colorful Colorado" and "Cancer Awareness," as well as seasonal lines. For every Awareness line purchase, Tag Your Glass donates a percentage of revenue to the specified cause. Keeping things fresh, Tag Your Glass is always developing new themes. Check out the Web site to see what's new.

Each theme contains twelve different Tags. Priced at just $5.99 a package, Tag Your Glass is a perfect hostess gift or party favor. Tag Your Glass is sold on the Internet and at specialty boutiques in Denver. Find out more or purchase Tag Your Glass tags at http://www.tagyourglass.com.
