USATestprep, Inc. recently announced that they have added the ability for their subscribers to make benchmark tests online. Benchmark tests are standardized assessments that teachers or administrators create to measure and compare student performance. Benchmark testing has become more and more common in the classroom, as teachers with limited time and resources struggle to find the best ways to address the biggest concerns on upcoming high-stakes tests.
"This was one of the most demanded features from our users." states USATestprep Co-Founder, Joe Winterscheidt. He continued, "We have always wanted to give our subscribers the most powerful and easiest-to-use online test review product." According to Winterscheidt, the benchmark feature was in development and testing for three months before its release.
The process of creating a benchmark test is simple, states Winterscheidt. "A teacher simply logs in, goes to our Benchmark Test Generator, selects the options he or she wants to associate with the test, then a sample test is developed automatically. Teachers then pick and choose questions they like until they develop their optimal test. All students then take the same test, and their results can be analyzed by question, content area or class." Winterscheidt also mentioned how teachers can quickly compare results between pre- and post-tests. "Unlike many competitive products, teachers can create an unlimited number of benchmark tests, each one specifically suited to his or her needs."
Often, large districts spend tens of thousands of dollars or more on a quality benchmark program. According to USATestprep, this powerful, new feature will be free to all current subscribers and added as a standard tool for all new subscribers at no additional cost. "In this time of budget cuts and belt-tightening, we understand that [school] districts are looking for the most bang for their buck. Our goal is to continue to give teachers the tools they need to help their students succeed and keep schools from having to sacrifice in other programs." states Winterscheidt.
Since 1999, USATestprep, Inc. has been one of the nation's leading online test review providers. They currently service over 1,000 schools across 14 states with state-specific reviews for high-stakes tests. Their subscribers include high schools, middle schools and districts whose students are required to pass state-developed tests.
