ATX Emerge Showcases Austin's Diverse Creative Talent

Hosted during SXSW Film Week, ATX Emerge is an unofficial networking event designed to showcase Austin's professional arts, film, interactive and music communities. The ATX Emerge will take place on March 14, 2009 at The Mohawk. Doors open at 8:00 p.m.

The Integrated Media Community (IMC), is pleased to announce the second annual ATX Emerge to be held on March 14, 2009 in downtown Austin.

The ATX Emerge is a free and open to the public event designed to showcase Austin's rich creative talent. The ATX Emerge will take place at The Mohawk (912 Red River Street) and feature nine local emerging bands. Belaire, Brazos, Foot Patrol, Freshmillions, Harlem, Sunset, The White White Lights, Ume and Zeale are all scheduled to perform with DJ Blissom spinning in between acts and at the end of the night. New work from emerging film and videogame talent will be showcased in the MODIA Media Room. Doors open at 8:00 p.m.

Those planning to attend must RSVP on the event website. Attendees will be asked to identify the industry in which they work and upon arrival at the Emerge, guests will receive a color-coded wristband that corresponds to a professional industry. The objective is to enable networking and create meaningful business opportunities for all attending.

ATX Emerge is the third in a series of events showcasing Austin's independent film and media community. The first event was ATX Emerge 2008, which also focused on showcasing Austin's talent to national audiences; the second was ATX Converge 2008, an opportunity for locals to network and celebrate their collective independence. The members of the IMC and organizing partners of ATX Emerge are City on Fire, Giant Media, Indierect Music Incubator, Launchpad Creative, Reversal Films, Self-Assembly Films, Swatch Post and Voodoo Highway Music and Post, all of who provide a wide network of contacts and expertise.
