Company's "Rough Cut Editing" Service Recognized for Innovation Among Web's Most Exciting New Technologies

PortalVideo (http://www.portalvideo.com), provider of Internet-based video editing solutions for producers, announced it was named as a finalist to the 2009 Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator at South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive in the online video-related technology category. Selected from over 200 technology firm submissions, PortalVideo was one of only four online video solutions chosen to present before a panel of industry professionals and technology trend-setters on Monday, March 16 at 2:45 pm at the Downtown Austin Hilton in Austin, TX, for the honor of category winner.

The first-ever Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator at SXSW showcases some of the Web's most exciting innovations in online video, social networking, online audio and Web applications, with winners announced at day's end. The program is open to all registered SXSW Interactive attendees.

PortalVideo™ is a software service for video producers that speeds the video creation process with interviews and reality-style footage -- so producers and their teams work with maximum flexibility and efficiency. Producers upload their video to PortalVideo's servers, where an online service links transcription to its corresponding video. This means producers can view the transcript and associated video together, on screen, then simply drag and drop the desired transcript from the left side, onto the right side. PortalVideo automatically creates a rough cut with the video aligned in the right order - as easily as reading and organizing text. In addition, an online review portal eliminates the need to send out DVDs and scripts, or upload files to ftp servers.    Producers are freed up to work faster and more spontaneously - reviewing versions with clients and colleagues over the Internet, making changes in real time, exporting to any industry-standard editing system, then handing off the final rough cut to the editing pros. Teams can save 50 percent in editing costs and over 50% percent of their total post-production workflow time.

"We're honored to be one of the chosen few innovators recognized by the technology visionaries at SXSW," said Len Sitomer, founder and president of PortalVideo. "Video production schedules and budgets keep getting compressed, yet the workflow for producing online video still includes many steps that waste time and money. PortalVideo already has helped producers to achieve amazing results using our Internet-based rough cut editing. We're delighted to be recognized for our revolutionary approach."
