Digital signage is actually just one piece of what we do. The reinvention of Place-based Media in the image of the Internet has created an entirely new technology arena called Venue Networking and ScreenScape is the clear leader

ScreenScape Networks Inc., the leader in Venue Networking, today announced it has appointed Kevin Dwyer as President and CEO, effective immediately. Mr. Dwyer, a seasoned software professional with 29 years experience in executive management, sales and sales management, has held executive level positions at Shoplogix, Ariba, and Interworld. Mr. Dwyer will also join ScreenScape's board of directors.
"Having worked with him at Ariba, I know that in Kevin we have hired a leader with the skill and experience necessary to guide our company through its growth phase," said Mark Hemphill, chairman, founder and now former President of ScreenScape. "Kevin has a deep understanding of Internet business models and by bringing to ScreenScape his expertise in strategic planning, team building, customer acquisition and revenue generation he will help us to capitalize on our growing technological advantage."
Mr. Hemphill will now focus on leading ScreenScape's Charlottetown-based product team as Chief Product Officer while Mr. Dwyer will focus primarily on sales and business development efforts based out of a new office in Southern Ontario.
Mr. Dwyer describes the ScreenScape opportunity: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Mark and the rest of the ScreenScape team at this still early stage. The architectural foundation and unique business model they have established makes for the kind of disruptive innovation that we all look for in an opportunity."
ScreenScape is an Internet Service and Community that offers a smarter, simpler and more cost-effective way for anyone to use dynamic screens in their venue. The service has been described by pundits as Web 2.0 digital signage as it combines professional display authoring tools with the content sharing principles and techniques of social media.
"Digital signage is actually just one piece of what we do. The reinvention of Place-based Media in the image of the Internet has created an entirely new technology arena called Venue Networking and ScreenScape is the clear leader," says Mr. Dwyer. "The advent of Internetworking principles, social media, and mobile computing has ushered in entirely new ways of building screen display networks which offer new opportunities and dramatically reduced costs. Venue Networking is the process of using these techniques to create dynamic marketing networks that address a specific audience in a specific place or locale. This has profound implications for business. Venue Networking is the key to communicating intelligently and cost-effectively to people where they live, work and play."
