Team Champion Athlete Mike Brown successfully defended his WEC® Featherweight belt against top contender Leonard Garcia at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX. Brown caught Garcia early in the first round with an overhand right that knocked him down and took the fight to the mat. Brown attempted to finish the fight from there with punches but Garcia withstood the onslaught. Brown then masterfully transitioned to an arm triangle at 1:57 of the first round and Garcia was forced to tap.

"I've been training as hard as I ever have for a fight" Brown says "I also took my nutrition and supplementation into consideration more than I ever have". In the months leading up to the fight Brown trained twice a day at the American Top Team facility in Coconut Creek, FL that included Muay Thai, Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. With that heavy training schedule, Brown and his partners at Champion Nutrition devised a supplementation and nutrition program to help keep him in the gym and at the top of his game. "For Mike, his most important goals are staying hydrated, keeping his energy up, and building lean muscle mass" says President Mark Post "We put him on our athlete-tested Revenge Sport Hydration Fuel to keep him hydrated and our Pure Whey Protein to maintain and build his lean muscle mass". And to keep his energy up each training day? "GlyProXTS™ Complete Stack and WipeOut™, of course!" Post exclaims. The combination of the two, according to Post, provides lasting energy even to the highest level athlete.

Director of Marketing John Jarmul says of Brown's victory "We couldn't be happier for Mike. We saw firsthand the dedication he put into leading up to the Faber fight, and this most recent fight against Leonard. Mike truly embodies our brand and we are proud to have him as a Team Champion Athlete". Next up for Brown will likely be a rematch of his November 5th, 2008 fight with Featherweight kingpin Urijah Faber. "Man, the fans want to see me and Urijah, I'd love to fight Urijah again. Urijah is the man, so let's do it again buddy." Brown said pointing at Faber from the Octagon in Corpus Christi after his victory over Garcia.
