• Independent review by Baker Tilly meets Institute requirements • Easy to use best of class software for SMBs

CODA Group, the finance software specialist, today announced that its Dream product designed for UK-based growing businesses, has achieved re-accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) under its Accreditation Scheme.

Full accreditation was achieved following a rigorous independent assessment of the product by Baker Tilly, a leading firm of accountants, against pre-set evaluation criteria.

The ICAEW accreditation scheme was set up to ensure that software meets the requirements of good accounting software which should be capable of supporting the accounting functions it was designed for, provide facilities to ensure the completeness, accuracy, confidentiality and continued integrity of those functions and be effectively supported and maintained. It should also be easy to learn, understand and operate and be able to accommodate changes to reflect specific user requirements.

Baker Tilly considered all core aspects of the software, including functionality, add-on tools, documentation and support services as part of its review. "There were no areas in the evaluation that gave cause for concern," said John Oates, a partner in Baker Tilly's IT Advisory Services who carried out the review. "Dream is a well-designed, financial accounting package that is supported by CODA. In terms of the functionality that is available in the current version and the target market for this product, it has been appropriately specified. It is easy to use and flexible in its approach."

Dream first achieved ICAEW accreditation in 2005.
