The evolution of digital marketing is outpacing the capabilities of many agencies
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 6, 2009
Evolution Bureau (EVB), a leading digital advertising agency based in San Francisco, is today launching a new agency division called EVB Productions. This division will operate independently within the agency and offer its digital production capabilities directly to outside advertising agencies and brand teams.
Over the past nine years, EVB has invested heavily in its digital production capability and led the industry in new forms of Flash development, video production and technical innovation. EVB has collaborated with agencies such as Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Toy New York, and McCann Erickson to produce award-winning projects such as "The Whopperettes" for Burger King, "Eagle F1" for Goodyear, "ElfYourself" for OfficeMax, and "Ms. Dewey" for Microsoft.
In recent years, however, the agency has taken aggressive steps to broaden its capabilities beyond digital-only services. In 2008, EVB recruited renowned executive creative director, Stephen Goldblatt, bringing fourteen years of experience from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, BBDO and DDB. Following successful integrated campaigns for adidas, Alberto Culver and Levi's, the agency is now directing traditional initiatives for The Golf Channel and CytoSport.
"We are now an integrated advertising agency with nearly 40 percent of our work non-digital," said Daniel Stein, CEO and founder of EVB. "As we broaden our scope and look forward to a time when digital and traditional marketing is truly integrated, we foresee a viable business opportunity in un-bundling our digital production capability and offering it directly to clients and agencies. "
EVB Productions will be structured as an independent unit inside the agency operating with a dedicated budget, strategic growth plan and business development team. Andrew Walter will spearhead the initiative as vice president of EVB Productions, reporting to agency CEO, Daniel Stein. EVB Productions will utilize the most innovative and effective production tools and technologies to deliver clients with progressive video content.
EVB Productions will fulfill a growing demand for digital production with brands dedicating more marketing dollars to the web to effectively reach and engage audiences. eMarketer forecasts video ad spending to rise 45 percent to reach $850 million in 2009. Likewise, 66 percent of senior level decision-makers identified video as their No. 1 online marketing focus in 2009, and 62 percent predict online video will become the most effective medium for marketers (PermissionTV study, January 2009).
"The evolution of digital marketing is outpacing the capabilities of many agencies," said Stein. "In this economic environment, most cannot invest in developing an in-house production capability. Collaboration becomes essential and imperative for success."
EVB Productions will be unveiled to clients via a redesigned agency website that is scheduled to launch in mid-March. A business development team will manage external client recruitment. The agency will also increase emphasis on building recognition for its production unit by securing awards, presenting at conferences, and contributing articles to industry publications. EVB Productions comes as a result of EVB's continued business strategy to broaden its agency services to deliver cutting-edge work for clients in all forms of advertising.
