Sentinel Technologies Is Lucky # 13 in Crain's 2009 "Top 20 Best Places" to Work in Chicago

Crain's Chicago Business has recognized Sentinel as one of the top 20 "Best Places to Work" in Chicago for 2009. That makes it two years in a row for this prestigious accomplishment.

Downers Grove, IL (PRWEB) March 8, 2009 -- Sentinel Technologies is proud to announce it has been recognized for a second consecutive year by Crain's Chicago Business as one of the "Best Places to Work" in Chicago for 2009. This year Sentinel moved up to #13 on the Crain's list behind some giants renowned for their employee satisfaction such as Microsoft (#2) and Google (#7).

"This achievement speaks volumes as to who we are as a company," says Brian Osborne, EVP of Sentinel. "We're extremely proud to be recognized two years in a row by Crain's, a Chicago business institution, with this distinction. It's especially rewarding to be recognized for our employee's satisfaction in spite of the difficult economic climate that all organizations face today. Not only is this a direct reflection of how our employees feel about Sentinel's company culture, it's also a reflection of how we conduct business with prospects and clients."

Thousands of local-area companies are eligible to be included in Crain's annual "Best Places to Work" list. The process starts with the applicant company completing an extensive survey measuring detailed information covering quantitative issues about pay, promotions, health care and other benefits, hiring practices and more.

An employee engagement survey deals with fairness of pay, vacation time, relationships with management and with co-workers and other issues about the day-to-day workplace. The surveys have a combined 162 questions and were completed by over 18,000 employees from applying companies.

"It's an honor to be recognized for our best practices" stated Penny Clancy, Sentinel's Director of Human Resources. "We continuously review our programs to meet the needs of our employee since they are our greatest asset."

Sentinel CEO Dennis Hoelzer added "Our employees are the key to helping us meet all of our objectives. We hire very talented people, challenge them to provide great service to our customers and reward them for doing an exceptional job. This recognition is reflective of the caliber of employees we have throughout the U.S."
