The second annual CUPPIE Awards - Thurs., March 12, 2009, at the Hotel Hershey - will recognize the year's best higher-education marketing communications work in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.

Spark developed and designed the winning efforts, which appeared in Lehigh, Carbon, and Schuylkill counties for LCCC. The agency landed two gold awards for the advertising category, one for the "I Will Seize the Day" print ad and the other for the "I Will Seize the Day" outdoor advertisement. Spark also earned a silver award in the print publications category for its "Earn More" 4-color brochure.

Heather Kuhns, LCCC Associate Dean of Institutional Advancement, said she is proud of the campaign's ability to illuminate the essence of the institution's educational opportunities. "We wanted to find a way to capture student emotions and, at the same time, promote the aspirations and dreams that are fulfilled by starting at LCCC," she said.

CUPRAP presents the CUPPIE awards in honor of creative excellence in marketing and communications. Last year, more than 300 entries were received and judged on creativity, marketing execution, and impact of the message. Judges represented experts in the field of communications in education and included designers, writers, editors, educators, media professionals and radio and TV executives.
