Hallvarsson & Halvarsson Launches Social Media Newsroom for Corporate Websites

Hallvarsson & Halvarsson (H&H) develops and offers an integrated social media newsroom as a standard application on corporate websites built upon EpiServer CMS.

Stockholm, Stockholm (PRWEB) March 9, 2009 -- Hallvarsson & Halvarsson (H&H) has developed and is now offering an integrated social media newsroom as a standard application on corporate websites built upon EpiServer CMS.

"Our clients are becoming more interested in social media and how to use these channels to communicate beyond their own website. At the same time they are interested in how to make the corporate website more social media friendly. The standardised social media newsrooms is a way to both influence the usage of social media and to develop the corporate website", says Staffan Lindgren, head of Online Communication at H&H.

The social media newsroom takes the corporate websites' news- and pressroom to a whole new level by integrating different types of media and content flows together with traditional press releases in one location. As more and more companies have started using social media such as blogs, micro-blogs and video- and image hosting services there is a need to gather and re-use all this material on the corporate website.

The traditional pressroom with the chronological list of press releases and news has mainly targeted journalists and analysts. The social media newsroom however targets a broader audience: journalists, bloggers, customers, partners, students, employees and investors among others.

H&H's social media newsroom will be integrated as a standard application when developing corporate websites based on EpiServer, and in the future on other CMS as well. The social media newsroom is built as a package of modules with different functionalities. In addition to the list of news and press releases, the web editors will be able to choose among specific modules to appear on their newsroom, for example:

  • The latest videos from their own YouTube channel
  • Latest images from Flickr
  • Links or flows from corporate blogs or micro-blogs
  • Geo-tagging of news in Google maps
  • Comment functionality on individual news

The content of the social media newsroom is categorised through tags and all material is shareable and spreadable. Subscription via RSS is also a standard functionality.
