The Assessment & Information group of Pearson today announced that AIMSweb, the company's leading web-based progress monitoring and response to intervention (RtI) system, was named the 2008-2009 Best in Tech for Assessment Tools: Reading and Math Intervention solutions from Scholastic Administr@tor magazine.

The Best in Tech awards celebrate achievement and innovation in education technology, providing each winner with a seal of approval by the magazine.

"We're honored to be chosen as one of Scholastic Administr@tor's Best in Tech, as it reinforces Pearson's continued investment in technology to improve student outcomes. Pearson is so pleased that AIMSweb is supporting our teachers and administrators and making a difference in classrooms across the nation - today," said Carol Watson, president and general manager, Clinical Assessment North America.

The AIMSweb program uses a three-tiered approach to intervention, providing direct, frequent and continuous student assessment and reporting results directly to students, parents, teachers and administrators via an online system.
Nationwide teachers and administrators are using the program to assess students three times a year for universal screening, and to frequently progress monitor students identified as at-risk for the purposes of demonstrating improvement and monitoring the response to instructional changes.

Scholastic Administr@tor's administrator-reviewers handpicked and carefully evaluated each of the potential award winners, including AIMSweb, which was originally featured in the June 2008 issue. Published eight times a year, Scholastic Administr@tor provides insight into the best education solutions and the most effective technology and leadership strategies for the nation's 85,000 top administrators.
