Interviews with the world's leading new media, social media and film luminaries, live musical performances and dozens of online events to be live-streamed on pbs.org will all be a part of PBS's widespread presence at this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive & Film conference (sxsw.com) in Austin, Texas. During SXSW, PBS will be located at 406 6th Street, the main avenue of SXSW, to host a "Social Media & Online Video Studio," March 14-16.

Interviewees to be showcased at PBS's SXSW event include venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki (guykawasaki.com), social media expert and author Charlene Li (altimetergroup.com), Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh, social media artist Natasha Wescoat (natashawescoat.com), Ypulse publisher and media authority Anastasia Goodstein (ypulse.com), blogads founder and CEO Henry Copeland (blogads.com), as well as filmmakers Gary Hustwit ("Helvetica"), Hector Galan ("The Big Squeeze"), Curt Ellis and Ian Cheney ("King Corn") and Ondi Timoner ("We Live in Public"), among many others.
This year's events will be hosted by PBS Engage, PBS's social media initiative (pbs.org/engage); interviews will be conducted by award-winning video bloggers Zadi Diaz, the co-creator and host of EPIC FU (epicfu.com), and her production partner Steve Woolf. EPIC FU, a pioneering online show about Web culture, has become one of the most well-known shows on the Internet, viewed more than 30 million times.
In addition, during the three days of PBS events at SXSW, there will be live musical performances from Paul Dateh (pauldateh.com), David Kitchen (davidkitchen.net) and Austin legend Alejandro Escovedo (alejandroescovedo.com); all will be streamed via http://www.pbs.org/sxsw. Sunday night's events will be co-hosted by ITVS/Independent Lens.
On the final day of PBS's event, on March 16, PBS Engage will conduct a live online chat (http://www.pbs.org/chat) with Terry Lickona, longtime producer of PBS's AUSTIN CITY LIMITS.
