Travel magazine is declared one of the winners of the ABC Fas-Fax analysis

According to a report in Folio, Global Traveler magazine is one of the few consumer titles to see circulation increases in the second half of 2008. Folio's report was based on figures released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations Fas-Fax. Global Traveler, the only ABC-audited magazine in its niche, was among the top performers.

According to the annual ABC report, approximately 75 percent of the magazines tracked saw single-copy sales decline over the last six months of 2008. In total, 329 magazines saw circulation decline, 239 saw circulation increase and eight titles remained flat.

Global Traveler was one of the few standouts this year as its circulation nearly doubled during the second half of 2008, jumping to 107,140 copies. In a time of economic uncertainty, the niche publication continues to target a group of elite business and luxury travelers -- a group of people who continue to travel despite the current recession.
