Scandal of the Evangelical Conscience
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) March 13, 2009
On any Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati, listeners can turn on the radio and hear a lively conversation about topics ranging from political campaigns to sports to dating. The catch? The hosts want listeners to think about these issues from a Biblical perspective. Welcome to Breaking the Silence (http://www.bt-silence.com) - the show that brings life through truth via talk radio. Every Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Daylight Savings Time, hosts Ron Mosby and Kevin Aldridge spar about relevant issues on WCVX, 1050 AM. "We look at ourselves as the 'Mike and Mike' of Christian talk radio," says Kevin Aldridge, co-host and an elder at Kingdom Vision Ministries in Middletown, Ohio.
While Kevin and Ron may have different perspectives on the issues, they both agree that in the end, they must submit their opinions to Biblical truth. They believe that is what many people are looking for. A recent survey showed that organized religion has been on the decline since 1990. Could it be that those surveyed want truth more than religion? Kevin and Ron think so, and that is why "Breaking the Silence" began. "Faith is not something that you reserve for one day a week," said Ron Mosby, co-host of the weekly radio program, as well as a teacher and elder at Family of God of Cincinnati. "Faith is an integral part of who you are. It guides your behavior and helps you make proper decisions in all areas of your life - personal, social, and professional. We want to help listeners reason according to Biblical truth, not according to emotion or denominationalism."
Kevin Aldridge is a sports fanatic, having played basketball overseas for a period of time. A graduate of the Ohio Center for Broadcasting, he also produced his first film, which debuted to a packed audience at the University of Miami - Middletown campus where he works. He is married to his lovely wife Crystal, and they have one daughter, Ava.
Ron Mosby has been a chief of staff for council members in the city of Cincinnati, a Public Information Officer for the Ohio Department of Transportation, and most recently a Senior Manager of Public Affairs at Wal-Mart. He left that post in July 2008 to fully pursue his work in the ministry. Ron is married to his wife Cynthia, and they have four children - Deonna (Mosby) Borish, Nicole, Ronald Jr. and Stephen.
They have interviewed people across a wide spectrum of society, from Ron Sider, author of "Scandal of the Evangelical Conscience," to Wayne Besen, Executive Director of Truth Wins Out.
Call in to the show to comment live at (513) 533-2261. Can't listen on the radio? The show streams live every Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. DST. Simply go to the home page of their web site, http://www.bt-silence.com, and click on "Listen Here." Kevin and Ron welcome suggested topics to discuss. Feel free to send them an e-mail with comments. There is a reason the web site is simplistic in its design and color scheme. Kevin and Ron say because it is reflective of the truth. It is black or white, but there is no gray when it comes to the truth.
Breaking the Silence also welcomes sponsors for the show. To advertise a product or service, simply go to the "Partner with Us" section of the site, and send us an e-mail with a description of the product or service. The team will be happy to develop a package that will help meet a company's needs.
