Dallas DJ Brett Dillon subject of controversial new documentary, Hey Dillon - The Last Great DJ.

"Wow." That is the one word award-winning filmmaker Dean J. Augustin used to describe KHYI DJ Brett Dillon. Brett is the subject of Augustin's fifth film, "Hey Dillon - The Last Great DJ."

"Hey Dillon - The Last Great DJ" is a docudrama centered on the career of Brett Dillon, bedrock DJ for KHYI, a family-owned independent radio station in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. Unique in that he is a true DJ, an occupation that suffers an alarming 8% loss annually, Brett Dillon battles corporations, technology, and his own personal demons to remain "The Last DJ".

This music-driven film features what fans often term "Our Kind of Music" from artists such as Walt Wilkins, Tejas Brothers, Susan Gibson, Back Porch Mary, Kevin Welch and Darryl Lee Rush. The original song "The Last Great DJ" was written and will be performed for the film by Nashville Singer/Songwriter Austin Cunningham.

"Hey Dillon - The Last Great DJ" is currently on the film festival circuit and is scheduled to premiere at Dallas' Granada Theater on May 31st, 2009. The DVD can be purchased at Amazon.com and at the film's website http://www.heydillon.com.
