Simenton received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1993 and Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law (UOP) in 1997. He is a member of the California State Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, and North County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
Simenton currently serves on the San Diego County Bowl Game Association Committee for both the Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl, a position he has held since 2005. Simenton has served as a board member of the San Diego Barrister's Club in 2001 and as vice president in 2002. He has participated in the American Inns of Court, Louis M. Welsh, Inn #9, as a Barrister and as an Alumni member, from 2003 to 2007.
