Automotive Networks Corporation, d/b/a WheelsTV, today announced the appointment of Bill Stephens as Senior Producer of Television and Internet Content.
Bill is a multi-award-winning writer/producer and on-air talent whose credits include, Motor Trend Television, The Daytona 500, NHRA Drag Racing and Wild About Wheels. He has produced or appeared in programs on CBS, ESPN, The Discovery Channel, Fox, Family, Speedvision, Outdoor Life Network, and PBS. His widely read feature articles and commentaries can be seen in ESPN The Magazine, Autoweek and on ESPN.com.
Bill's first project is the April launch of WheelsTV's innovative pre-owned vehicles series, POV Reviews. POV is being produced in cooperation with J. D. Power and Associates and provides consumer information on the most popular used cars, including J.D.Power.com Power Circle Ratings.
Bill launched his television career by producing and voicing the "IMSA Grand Prix Hour" domestic and international television series back in 1989, his first of many collaborations with Jim Barisano, CEO of WheelsTV.
"It's a real pleasure to be working with Bill, again," states Jim. "Bill brings a high level of professionalism and network television standards to POV Reviews. Bill's talent and knowledge of the auto industry, coupled with J. D. Power.com's Power Circle ratings, promise to make POV Reviews the standard of excellence in the automotive television and video industry."
Bill is overseeing a staff of researchers, editors and analysts who are creating POV Reviews, the first video product to serve the pre-owned vehicle market. Each POV Review covers one generation of a vehicle, typically six to eight years, providing key consumer information on reliability, fuel economy, performance and crash worthiness, among others.
"I'm really pleased to be back working with Jim and the team at WheelsTV," states Bill. "Our first project is a breakthrough television and video series that makes shopping for a used car easy and fun. With POV Reviews consumers can do five hours of research in just five entertaining minutes. There is a real need for POV in today's marketplace."
Bill and his production team are creating POV in both a linear format and innovative click-to-view chapter format. An April launch is planned on WheelsTV's network of web portals, VOD services, IPTV and mobile services.
