Magellan Development Group has initiated leasing for 474 rental units that will fill 33 floors of the distinctive Aqua mixed-use tower nearing completion at the east end of the Lakeshore East village just north of Millennium Park. Occupancy of the rental apartments is projected for May 1.

Bold in both design and function, Aqua, designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio/Gang architects is the first high-rise in Chicago specifically designed to feature condominiums, rental, hotel and retail spaces in a single structure. The rental component occupies floors 19 to 52. Application for LEED certification as an environmentally-sensitive "Green Building" has been submitted.
Aqua's dramatic design is produced by outdoor balconies and terraces that form unique, undulating contours of different sizes and shapes that change gradually from the lower to the higher part of the 82-story tower.
