Philippe de Lapérouse, Managing Director of HighQuest Partners and Director of the firm's Global Food and Agribusiness Practice, has been named to the Board of Directors of Sodrugestvo Management Company, Ltd. Based in Kaliningrad, Russia, Sodrugestvo is one of the fastest growing companies in the global oilseed industry and the largest independent soybean crusher in Europe.

Mr. de Lapérouse joined HighQuest Partners, an international strategic advisory and management consulting firm, in 2006 as Director of its Global Food and Agribusiness practice and head of its St. Louis, Missouri, office. He was promoted to Managing Director of the firm in 2008. He possesses more than 25 years experience in senior leadership positions within global companies in the international agribusiness and private equity investing sectors.
Prior to joining High Quest, he was a Principal at Vanikoro Advisory LLC where he advised clients on their financial and global expansion strategies. Previously, he was associated with the Fund for Large Enterprises in Russia (FLER), a private equity fund investing in Russian enterprises and joint ventures with Western companies. At FLER, he was responsible for the firm's flagship Moscow office and overseeing investment activity.
He also served as Director of Business Development for Bunge North America, Inc., the North American operating arm of Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG). In that capacity, he was responsible for the company's efforts to expand its industrial operations into Mexico and the Caribbean Basin, biotech and e-commerce initiatives, and public relations / corporate communications before and after Bunge's successful IPO in 2001. He has also held senior line management positions at Ralston Purina International in both the United States and Europe.
Also named to the Sodrugestvo Board are:
- Yury N. Khitrov, former Director of the Structured Finance Department and Member of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse Moscow. Mr. Khitrov earlier served as Deputy Chief of the Credit Directorate and subsequently Chief of the Debt Program Directorate at Alfa-Bank. He is a native of Russia.
- Jean-François Pinard, recently retired from the World Bank Group (WBG). At WBG, his positions included Director of the Agribusiness Department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private-sector arm of the WBG, where he was responsible for managing IFC's global investment portfolio in agriculture, agribusiness and food production. Mr. Pinard is a native of France.
- Poul Schroeder, former Director of European Agribusiness and Chairman of Bunge S.A. Geneva. Prior to joining Bunge, Mr. Schroeder held several management positions at Continental Grain Company, including General Manager Europe and Chairman of Finagrain (Conti Geneva) in 1990 with additional responsibilities for Africa and the Far East. Now an independent consultant, he is a native of Denmark.
