Cindi Walters, Founder and President of Orange County, Calif.-based C Walters Intercoastal Corp, Inc. (CWIC), is currently nominated for the 2009 Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards by the Orange County Business Journal. The annual program is Orange County’s premier program designed to recognize the spirit, vision and accomplishments of the area's outstanding entrepreneurs. Walters was also a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007.

"I am honored to be nominated beside so many amazing business men and women," says Walters. "It is my mission to prove that when we follow our passions, there is nothing that we can’t accomplish with hard work!"

Known for her vision and innovation, Walters has become a global leader in the predominantly male-run water sports industry as she develops specifically-designed diving, snorkeling, and recreational aquatics gear for men, women and children under the Body Glove, Fluid Water Sports, Dive N' Surf by Body Glove and Disney Canada brands.

"Of all our licensees, CWIC is far and away the most successful, and Cindi Walters had been the driving force of the company," says Body Glove CEO Russ Lesser. "I have never known anyone that works as hard as she does and is as passionate about her business."

Walters is successfully changing water sports from a small specialty category to a mass-market phenomenon with her products now sold in Costco, Sam's Club, Sports Authority, Big 5, Toys R' US, BJ's, PriceSmart, MC Sports and more. Her 2009 line of products have expanded to include a full Body Glove Learn to Swim line for youth and Body Glove for adults Aqua Fitness gear.

Apart from her business ventures, Walters devotes an incredible amount of time and resources to her non-profit foundation Aqua Angels. The foundation, committed to offering opportunity to disadvantaged youth around the world, was founded in 2008 after Walters logged 300,000 miles of travel to third world countries and was inspired to make a difference. Walters has also been involved with local charities including the Amends Center and the Orange County Association for Retarded Children.
