Downtown Palatine Business Association Launches "Girls on the Town" Event

On Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, the Downtown Palatine Business Association will host "Girls on the Town" - a free event with activities designed to appeal to ladies of all ages. During "Girls on the Town," downtown Palatine shops, restaurants and businesses plan a wide array of special events, demonstrations, complimentary food and beverages and raffle prizes.

On Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, the Downtown Palatine Business Association will host "Girls on the Town" - a free event with activities designed to appeal to ladies of all ages. During "Girls on the Town," downtown Palatine shops, restaurants and businesses plan a wide array of special events, demonstrations, complimentary food and beverages and raffle prizesWomen are stressed by the demands of work and family, especially in these hard economic times," says Carol Cook, president of the downtown Palatine Business Association, and owner of The Music Room. "Girls on the Town" is a way for downtown Palatine businesses to provide women with an entertaining and relaxing weekend, that won't break the bank."

More than 25 downtown Palatine businesses are offering free demonstrations, special sales and workshops, complimentary food and beverages, and raffle prizes. Here are just a few of the experiences women can enjoy:

Complimentary tea tastings at Mint Julep Bistro; floral arrangement seminars at Patty's Pretties; complimentary wine tastings at Dobby's Worldwide Liquors, and "Women and Finance" workshops at Palatine Bank & Trust.

In addition, event participants are eligible to win thousands of dollars worth of raffle prizes. Simply pick up an event passport at any participating business, and get it stamped at each location you visit. When the passport is turned in, participants will be eligible for the raffles of the stores they visited. Prizes include a gift package of aromatic products and an organic bamboo wrap from Gwendolyn's Gate at Mane Street Hair Styling; a pink stone and crystal necklace and earring set from Chandelier Boutique; CZ and Swarovski woven rings from Facets of Isis, gift certificates and more!

The event runs from 10am until 8pm on Friday and 10am until 6pm on Saturday.
