I started taking these classes
Waynesboro, VA (PRWEB) March 18, 2009
These days, many people purchase their jewelry from big box retailers and shopping malls and it seems as though the days of handcrafted jewelry have waned to the point where the crafting of items as such is a unique art form in it of itself.
Enter artisan Audrey Young, who took her entrepreneurial spirit online with her new website, http://www.ElegantGlassJewelry.com.
Young has been making her own jewelry for the last four years and her interest and passion in glass art has resulted in beautifully crafted dichroic glass jewelry.
"I started taking these classes," began Young, "and after the workshops I wanted to do something with molten glass. When you're in the creative process, you really don't know how these pieces will turn out, but they all come out of the kiln as very stylish and unique."
Young launched ElegantGlassJewelry.com in February 2009, which allows her to share here fused glass jewelry which includes earrings, unique luxury barrettes and unique pendants.
Each of Young's pieces are developed using many different processes and, as such, cannot be reproduced. They can be worn with casual or dressy attire. According to Young, all of her jewelry is unique and original.
In addition to launching her new website, Young has simultaneously started a new blog, http://www.FusedGlassJewelryBlog.com.
"The blog will talk about dichoric glass and the process on how it's made," said Young. "This is also a good way for the development of my product and it helps give me insight on what people are looking for in jewelry."
While styles may change over time, one thing that is constant is Young's ability to make beautiful handcrafted glass jewelry that is something of a rarity these days.
"My goal and personal slogan is 'Creating beauty above the frame,'" she said.
