Appistry, an early pioneer in cloud computing, today announced it was chosen as a finalist in the Software & Information Industry Association's 24th Annual CODiE Awards. Established in 1986, the CODiE Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries.
The Appistry CloudIQ Platform made the prestigious CODiE cut in the "Best On-Demand Platform" category. The category awards the software platform that best supports the development, deployment and services needed to successfully deliver software-as-a service (SaaS) applications. Appistry's platform was chosen from more than 850 nominations submitted by 600 companies across 71 categories.
"CODiE recognition reinforces the work we've done over the past seven years building what is one of the industry's most powerful and flexible cloud application platforms," said Michael Groner, an Appistry founder and the company's Chief Architect. "While it seems cliché to say it's great just being nominated, the CODiEs are one competition where the cliché is actually true. Making the cut as a CODiE finalist validates the strategy we have in place, the products we make, and the positive feedback we hear from our customers."
The Appistry CloudIQ Platform is a feature-rich cloud application platform that addresses the complex challenges of building, deploying, and managing a wide variety of applications and services in both public and private cloud environments.
According to SIIA President Ken Wasch, "The competition is particularly steep this year during the 24th Annual SIIA CODiE Awards, making selection as a CODiE Finalist a real achievement." Wasch further added that, "All the companies on this year's list of CODiE Finalists should feel justifiably proud of their accomplishment in making it to this stage, and have much excitement to look forward to regarding the upcoming CODiE Awards voting!"
The 2009 CODiE Awards will be presented at a gala event on May 5, 2009, at the historic Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
