With their strong 2006 performance, Radio Web sites have risen from the bottom of the pack, in overall average ISAR scores in the past, to the top half of all the industries tracked by the ISAR Index.
West Simsbury, CT (PRWEB) March 18, 2009 -
WebAward.org- The Web Marketing Association, host of leading website awards competition WebAwards, released the 2009 Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR) to help the radio industry learn to create more effective and engaging websites.
"As the standard of excellence for websites continues to increase, consumers (and WebAward judges) are increasingly picky about what they consider to be an effective website," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association, Inc. "With their strong 2006 performance, Radio Web sites have risen from the bottom of the pack, in overall average ISAR scores in the past, to the top half of all the industries tracked by the ISAR Index."
The WebAwards competition judges Radio websites on seven criteria that combined create award-winning websites:
- Ease of use
Despite the positive swing in 2006, radio Web sites returned to their negative trend for the last two years. Radio sites have underperformed the overall ISAR index eight out of eleven years. These sites underperformed the 5-year criteria benchmark scores in all areas. Within their industry, they are strongest at content, copywriting, design and interactivity. They score lowest in innovation.
The 2008 WebAward for Best Radio Website went to Digitaria for KCRW Media Player.
