Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) has voted in its 2009 - 2010 Board of Directors. James P. O'Toole will serve as Board Chair; Jennifer Watts will serve as Vice Chair; John Sciurba will serve as Treasurer; Michele Geller will serve as Secretary and Co-Chair of Development; and Wiley C. Harrison and Ann Smith will serve as Board members.
A resident of Darien, Conn., O'Toole is founder and president of James P. O'Toole Consulting. He is the past chairman of the Business Council of Westchester and is currently a member of the Council's Board of Directors and Executive Committee. In 2003, he was the recipient of the Business Council's Business Leadership Award. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of HPCW, serves on the Board of the Westchester Sports Hall of Fame, and is a member of the Long Island University MBA Advisory Board. O'Toole holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Villanova University and an MBA from Fordham University
White Plains resident Jennifer Watts served as a per diem Registered Nurse at HPCW from 1986 until 2003. Today, her involvement continues as a volunteer. She is parish nurse for Hitchcock Presbyterian Church and is a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of Westchester County. Watts holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Boston College.
John Sciurba is a Rye Brook resident and Vice President of Finance at White Plains Hospital Center. A certified public accountant, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Long Island University, C.W. Post.
Michele Geller is a trustee and board member of the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation and serves on the board and Executive Committee of New York Weill Cornell Council at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Prior to joining the Board of HPCW she had been a volunteer with HPCW for 13 years. She also serves as Vice President of the Ladies Golf Association of the Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Westchester, NY. Michele and her husband, Dr. Terry Geller, are residents of Hastings-on-Hudson and New York City.
Wiley C. Harrison, a resident of Greenburgh, is founder and president of Business of Your Business, LLC, a bookkeeping, tax and payroll company. He serves as Treasurer of the Business Council of Westchester and is Board Chair of the Thomas H. Slater Center, Inc. Harrison is also a member of the African American Men of Westchester. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Wilberforce University and an MBA from Columbia University.
Ann Smith, a Bedford Corners resident, is active with the Visiting Nurse Services of Westchester. She serves on its Board of Directors and is a community volunteer for the organization. Smith also volunteers her time for Saint Patrick's of Bedford Parish and Northern Westchester Hospital. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras and has also volunteered at the Ossining Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. Smith holds a Bachelor of Psychology and Education from Mercy College and a Masters in Humanities from Manhattanville College.
