Florida Data Bank of Tallahassee Florida announced today that it has reached an agreement with QuickBeam Energy (QuickBeam) of Winter Haven Florida for the installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at their Tallahassee document storage facility.

Terry Morgan, GM for Florida Data Bank said, "This system will be used to supplement our power usage and reduce our overall energy bills. This system is an investment in the future. With ever increasing power rates, this system will pay back for itself with every turn of the meter."

"QuickBeam recognizes that the political and economic climate for renewable energy means that the solar energy business is about to explode and there are many businesses looking eagerly at this growing market, which is a natural for the State of Florida," says Jim Grebey, COO of QuickBeam. "This is a great example of how we are able to work with commercial property owners to save money and increase the value of their businesses. By taking advantage of the federal and state incentives that are already in place, this makes tremendous sense for a business."

"Current federal incentives include a 30% tax credit, which can now be taken as a rebate, and up to $100,000 rebate from the State of Florida," said Grebey. "If the State implements a feed in tariff, as was recently done in Gainesville, all of Florida's businesses and energy consumers will benefit from solar energy. By implementing an FIT program today, the burden for supplementing these systems is taken off of the state and placed on private investors and the small cost to the consumer is less than what it costs to maintain a fossil fuel generator today, which also saves them in the future."
