Our objective is to protect any company's or agencies classified data, anytime and anywhere
Orland Park, IL (PRWEB) March 25, 2009
It is reported that by the end of 2010, there will be more than 68 million portable computers in the United States. Companies continue to issue more laptop computers to employees as replacements for their desktop computers. Laptop and mobile device theft potentially represents an enormous loss of assets, as well as an unacceptable risk of compromised data. When devices are not recovered, professional hackers have limitless time to work on cracking encryption codes or circumventing password protected login screens.
Secure Data Replicator, (SDR), an international supplier of total business continuity solutions by replicating and hosting office files and data elements that are salient to the integrity of business processes, has developed a new product that secures and deletes company sensitive, classified data from lost or stolen laptop computers, anywhere in the world within seconds.
SDR's Secure Wipe-Out Technology (SWOT) locates reported lost or stolen laptop computers, notifies the clientele of the location and guides the client while asking what actions they wish to activate. The computer can remain in full operation, all files can be remotely deleted from stolen systems or entire systems can be wiped out. The customer is then notified of the wipe-out execution.
Whether the old laptop is found or a replacement is used, all data is then restored at the point of incident from SDR's secured hosting sites (tier 3 data centers) that provides continuous data replication. Data is always available, accurate, adaptable, and accessible (4A QOS)
"Our objective is to protect any company's or agencies classified data, anytime and anywhere," notes Al Hasan, SDR's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "With dedicated and certified Secure Data Replicator technical and dispatch staff, our Call Center and PC locate management provides 7/24/52 'follow-the-sun' support."
According to a study by the Ponemon Institute, 600,000 laptops are reported missing every year - and that's just at U.S. airports. Over 85% of privacy and security professionals had at least one reportable breach in the past 12 months and 66% of data breaches involved data the victim did not know was on the system. Sensitive data such as client records, trade secrets and other proprietary information is ever more vulnerable and with the proliferation of laptop computers, this problem is likely to intensify. The cost of recovering from a single data breach now averages $6.3 million.
Wipe-out feature protocol includes, laptop location services (currently IP based), data availability through web portal, and data restored to recovered or new systems using SDR software. SWOT supports DHS and NIMS standards as well as HIPAA, SARBOX, TL-9000, QueST, and ISO-9000 standards.
Dr. Sufyan Almajali, SDR's CTO, described the new product as a natural progression for the company. "This feature provides customers information security by ensuring that their data is accessible only to those authorized to have access, safeguarding the accuracy and completeness of information and processing methods, and ensuring that authorized users have access to information and associated assets when required."
SDR was formed in 2003 to develop a real-time replication software that can instantly capture all types of data from a source and transmit online to a target (Server or disk array), and provide the ability to retrieve that data on demand at any time.
With the new SWOT technology, Secure Data Replicator is one of only a few companies worldwide that offers this comprehensive level of data securty, including secured hosting facilites for backup, servers and SAN collocations services for international clients. The security incorporates multiples layers and components including secured physical access, multiple power sources, and a controlled, monitored environment.
The current SDR Management Team has over 150 years of Consulting expertise in Telecomm, Government, Data Center, Engineering, Sustaining, PM, DRI, HIPAA and Six Sigma.
