Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) March 25, 2009
International Swimsuit Designer Carol Wior will appear on Dr. Marlene Siersema's radio program "Amazing Women: Brains, Beauty & Style" airing on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel on Wednesday March 25 at 2 PM Pacific Time.
As a successful self-made garment manufacturer, entrepreneur, business woman and swimwear designer, Carol's entrepreneurial tenacity has resulted in her being distinguished as one of only four percent of women in the United States who has obtained a patent - for her Carol Wior patented SLIMSUIT! invention.
With a love for the fashion industry, Carol always wanted to open a boutique which is how she ended up in manufacturing. But a tight cash flow caused frustration and delays. One day she remembers going into a garment factory and heard the sound of roaring machines. It was music to her ears. That was the day she found her niche. The intrigue of taking a small piece of fabric and turning it into a stylish design for women to wear was exciting -- from design to manufacturing to shipping and out the door. "The first time I actually saw my collection in the stores, I actually got chills. . . I was so excited," she said.
In the early years, Carol brought her daughter Niki everywhere with her. She was a single Mom and even took her to meetings with buyers. It was tough, but over a six-year period from age 20-26, Carol did quite well making and selling simple caftans. Shortly thereafter, she started designing dresses and dabbling in swimwear. Cash was so tight she even converted an old milk truck into a van and personally delivered her dresses.
The Carol Wior patented "Slimsuit"® is a highly engineered one piece swimsuit that takes an inch or more off the waist and stomach and lifts the buttocks too. Hidden underwires in the bust area enhance the smaller bustline and offer support for larger busted women. The secret to Carol Wior's patented SLIMSUIT! is her special inner construction which envelopes the entire body to shape, hold and smooth out all little bulges.
Carol continues to be a popular media personality appearing on hundreds of local and national television programs including "Oprah Winfrey," "Dr. Phil," "Live With Regis," "Good Morning America" and "The Morning Show." She also appears regularly on cable TV's QVC.
In addition, she has been profiled and her swimwear has beenfeatured in hundreds of newspapers and magazines including Glamour, a two-page spread in People Magazine, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, San Francisco Chronicle, Honolulu Star Bulletin, Dallas Times-Herald, Elle, Redbook, Vogue, Working Mother, Fitness and Good Housekeeping.
Wior's patented SLIMSUIT! has received honors touring the country with the Mother's of Invention tour, and is now on display at The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. With the help of Sylvester Stallone, Carol's swimwear is on display at the famous Planet Hollywood in Miami, Florida.
Carol has also represented the swimwear industry at the request of the U.S. Commerce Dept. and spoke to 150 members of the international press corps in Dusseldorf, Germany where she was a special dinner guest at the Governor's Mansion. In addition to being featured in several educational and inspirational books, Carol has also been honored by The John F. Kennedy University as the recipient of the "Jacqueline Kennedy Woman of Achievement Award" for her entrepreneurial spirit.
