Several of Austin's premier custom home builders have come together under a new organization: CB-USA Austin, LLC. The Austin-based organization marks one of the newer chapters within the national Custom Builders USA network. CBUSA, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a purchasing organization for custom builders. The venture works with its member chapters to develop and maintain local networks of professional builders, vendors and manufacturers -- for the purpose of lowering a builder's costs of doing business, instilling higher levels of service and increasing productivity in the industry.

The CB/USA network is currently made up of over 425 builders and 675 vendors in 15 cities across the United States. Each CB/USA market is made up of approximately 20-30 builder owner members that represent $80-$175M in material and labor spending annually. These local city groups are organized into separate LLC's owned by the members themselves and managed by CB/USA. This means everyone in the group is working towards the same goals - greater profitability and collective success.
