Our commitment of providing pro bono service is part of the fabric of our firm and we are proud to maintain that tradition.
Portland, ME (PRWEB) March 26, 2009
At the Annual Meeting of the Maine State Bar Association, law firm Verrill Dana, LLP was honored with two awards for its pro bono work. Verrill Dana received one award for accepting the most Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) cases (17) in 2008, and another for working the most hours on completed pro bono cases in 2008.
The firm maintains an active pro bono program, and each lawyer is expected to contribute volunteer services to pro bono causes. Verrill Dana attorneys provide approximately 3,000 hours of pro bono service annually.
"Verrill Dana recognizes that our country's long standing principle of "justice for all" requires attorneys to volunteer to protect the legal rights of those who cannot afford a lawyer." says Bill Harwood, the firm's pro bono coordinator. "Our commitment of providing pro bono service is part of the fabric of our firm and we are proud to maintain that tradition."
