George Vukovich, Director of Military Outreach at American Military University (AMU) (http://www.amuonline.com), was recently elected President of the Virginia Advisory Council on Military Education (ACME). The Virginia ACME was formed to promote, support and deliver meaningful education within all branches of the Armed Services encouraging educational institutions to be innovative and flexible in meeting their educational needs. The Virginia ACME is the largest of its kind in the United States.
AMU is a member institution of regionally accredited American Public University System (http://www.apus.edu), an online university system that serves more than 45,000 adult learners worldwide. As Director of Military Outreach, Vukovich manages the AMU Military outreach team that is positioned in regions across the United States.
Vukovich was most recently Vice President of the Virginia ACME and sees organizational growth and greater involvement with state legislators as focal points in the future. "This organization has worked tirelessly to enhance educational opportunities for service members and their families in Virginia," said Vukovich. "We will continue to work with their best interests in mind."

Vukovich is a Gunnery Sergeant, United States Marine Corps (Ret.). His assignments included the Formal Schools Quota Manager, Training Command and the Staff Noncommissioned Officer at the Life Long Learning Center, both at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. Vukovich holds a B.A. in General Studies with a concentration in Educational Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and has completed graduate level courses with the University of Oklahoma and American Military University.
