(PRWEB) March 26, 2009 -- The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC), the non-profit watchdog organization for self-regulating the debt-settlement industry, today announced Thurbert E. Baker, Attorney General of Georgia, as its keynote speaker for its annual conference April 5-7 in Las Vegas.

Baker, who is slated to present at 9:15 a.m. Monday, will discuss how debt settlement and consumers in the state of Georgia are being affected by the current economy.

"As TASC continues to promote legislation of our industry throughout the country, hearing Mr. Baker's insights will prove invaluable," Chris Kesterson, President of TASC, said.

A three-term Attorney General, Baker has been Georgia's top prosecutor since 1997. His focuses are fighting crime, corruption and consumer fraud.
