LandSpaces Featured in ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"
Southern California-based Landscape Architecture Duo Leads Landscaping Efforts for Hit Show's Two-Hour Special
South Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) March 26, 2009 -- LandSpaces, a California landscape architecture firm that specializes in ecologically-based site planning and landscape design services, announced today that its work will be showcased in the hit television series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" two-hour special that airs on ABC Sunday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. The "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" takes place in Phelan, CA where LandSpaces teams with its collaborative partner, Dezue, to help a family that devoted their lives, personal resources and property into a non-profit shelter for abused and neglected exotic animals.

Given the personal nature of residential landscapes and the tight timeframe of one week to completely install a landscape design, the Almquist project site provided a number of challenges. In addition, to the Almquist family residence, the grounds serve as an exotic animal sanctuary; the landscape design team was chartered with designing and executing a plan that took into account the entire site and its inhabitants. Last, LandSpaces worked diligently to organize the donation of products and labor to complete the landscape plan. This included rallying regional and national suppliers to donate the plants, labor and irrigation equipment and have it installed within a few days.
"It was important to us to develop a site plan that would thrive in the arid and hot environment of Phelan and would require minimal upkeep for the Almquist family. LandSpaces prides itself on understanding its clients' needs and we feel like we helped create a unique oasis that reflects the personalities and requirements for the Almquists and their extended family of large exotic cats and reptiles," continued Ms. Peterson.
