beRecruited.com has become the national platform for the recruiting process
Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) March 27, 2009
beRecruited.com, the largest online recruiting network connecting high school athletes with college coaches, today unveiled a new section on its site featuring athletes organized by their schools. The section can be found at beRecruited.com High Schools. The section is another way that the service is creating exposure for its registered athletes.
The section, which features profiles from more than 18,500 different U.S. high schools, allows users to see the schools that generate the most profile views by college coaches, the most connected, and the most active schools. Users can also drill down by state, city and high school, offering a unique way to track the growing popularity of high school sports.
"beRecruited.com has become the national platform for the recruiting process," said Jeff Cravens, president of beRecruited.com. "In addition to connecting high school athletes and college coaches, this new section is now the largest portal on the web celebrating the accomplishments of high school athletes from across the country and provides even greater exposure for the athletes and their schools."
In addition, users can also sort the data by specific sports. For example, users can see the high school baseball teams most viewed by college coaches, as well as look at the most viewed teams in their particular state by sports. This allows high school athletes to see the public profiles of their peers, and learn the best practices in creating complete profiles.
beRecruited has more than 400,000 registered athletes, 15,000 registered college coaches, 15,000 registered high school coaches and more than 10,000 registered parents. The site has generated more than 5.8 million connections between high school athletes and college coaches for 18 sports, including more than 1 million connections since January 1.
"With growing cutbacks in local sports coverage, beRecruited is aggressively looking for avenues to provide registered athletes with exposure opportunities for their individual and team success stories," Cravens said. "It's an important element of our strategy in providing the most efficient marketplace to connect athletes dedicated to competing at the college level with college coaches and programs that can set their own recruiting criteria and let beRecruited do the initial work for them."
By creating a profile with beRecruited.com, high school athletes can instantly connect with registered college coaches across America. Athletes update their profiles with recent statistics, videos and photos, and college coaches can view the profiles that fit their programs and connect with the athletes. Coaches are alerted via email when an athlete fits their parameters.
The company's service is free, maintaining the founders' principle of providing a free resource for athletes. For a one-time fee of $39.99 athletes can enhance their profiles by becoming a deluxe-user. Founded in 2000 by Ryan Spoon, a collegiate swimmer for Duke University, it was first created exclusively for NCAA swimming and diving and now serves athletes and coaches from 18 different sports.
