Consumers Can Save up to $700 on X-Treme Brand Electric Bikes and Electric Motorcycles

Newton, Iowa -- President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 on February 17. This act provides additional tax credits for clean energy vehicles. This is good news for consumers who want to purchase electric bikes, electric motorcycles, traditional motorcycles and 3 wheeled electric vehicles.

The US Department of Energy summarized this new tax credit on their website as follows:
"For businesses and individuals buying electric vehicles, the act simplifies and expands the available tax credits. For electric low-speed vehicles, motorcycles, and three-wheeled vehicles, a 10% tax credit is available through 2011, with a cap of $2,500". For more details, go to the US Department of Energy website using the following link:

X-Treme Scooters offers a number of electric vehicles that qualify for this 10% federal tax credit. Our electric vehicles are "green" and have zero emissions. The qualifying vehicles are detailed below:

Electric bicycles are great alternatives for commuters that need a quick way to travel but do not want the expense of operating a vehicle or traditional gas motorcycle. The X-Treme XM-5000Li and XM-4000Li are street legal electric mopeds/motorcycles with power that rivals traditional gas motorcycles. The XM-5000Li has a top speed of 60 miles per hour and can operate for 90 miles on a single electrical charge. This makes commuting to work viable for anyone. Our motorcycle is equipped with 21 lightweight lithium batteries. The batteries have a life cycle of 7 - 10 years and can be recharged up to 2000 times. The XM-4000Li also has lightweight lithium batteries. This model's top speed is 55 miles per hour with a range of 60 - 65 miles on a single electric charge.

The X-Treme XU-3000 is the first ever electric powered Utility Terrain Vehicle. It is powered by 6 oversized Silicone Gel Cell 150 AMP batteries with a 3000 Watt direct current motor. The XU-3000 has a top speed of about 20 miles per hour and travels up to 35 miles on a full charge. It can climb up a 20% grade with little power loss. The XU-3000 features a programmable (with your laptop) controller made in the USA and can be adjusted to your preference. The rider can pre-set the speed, the engine torque, and the throttle response to fit the job at hand, whether the job is pulling logs in the mud or cruising on pavement. The XU-3000 is certified for off road use & can be registered with the DMV in any state. Consult your local DMV for more details.
