Now our customers can receive access to Lexi-Comp's existing referential content and our new transactional products, seamlessly integrated into one package. This offering provides tremendous value to those that have historically purchased data and referential content separately and from different suppliers.
Hudson, OH (PRWEB) March 27, 2009
Lexi-Comp, Inc., a provider of trusted drug reference products to the healthcare industry, will introduce a new drug data product line and integration tools, Lexi-Comp® Integrated™, at the upcoming HIMSS09 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Chicago, Illinois, April 5 - 8, 2009. This new product line features computer-readable drug databases with advanced application program interfaces (APIs), mapped links to Lexi-Comp referential drug information and RxNorm vocabularies, and drug information for the consumer. Demonstrations will be available in Lexi-Comp's booth #2412.
Lexi-Comp Integrated complements and expands the Lexi-Comp referential content available to hospitals and is the ideal drug information solution for healthcare information technology vendors and consumer health websites. It seamlessly combines the patient-specific information that physicians, pharmacists, and nurses need with easy-to-implement integration tools. This supports sound treatment decisions within the clinical workflow, saves time, and ultimately influences positive patient outcomes. The solution also helps healthcare technology vendors meet decision support requirements for certification.
Lexi-Data Basic™ provides drug information that includes drug names (brand name, generic name, and common abbreviations), therapeutic categories, drug classifications, pricing, standard or customized disease names and associated ICD-9 codes, and other coding systems such as NDC and J-Codes.
Lexi-Data™ is the foundation of Lexi-Comp's clinical decision support architecture. The product provides physicians, pharmacists, and nurses with patient-specific alerts and content to support sound treatment decisions. It contains the information presented in Lexi-Data Basic, plus more in-depth clinical alert information such as drug interaction checking (drug-drug and drug-food), drug allergy checking, therapeutic duplication checking, dose range checking (adult and pediatric), descriptions, cross reactivity checking, side effects, drug-disease interaction checking, and much more, delivered in easy to implement formats.
The information already in place for healthcare providers is also available in a consumer-friendly format to deliver Lexi-Data Consumer™, providing drug interaction information, drug allergy interactions, warning information, drug images, and patient leaflets written and designed especially for the consumer audience.
Lexi-Comp also offers the ability to integrate reference content from Lexi-Comp® ONLINE™, their comprehensive web-based solution. This integration provides clinicians with the ability to link from within their workflow applications and decision support alerts to more detailed reference information that will aid in pharmacotherapy decision-making.
Steven Kerscher, President and COO of Lexi-Comp, comments, "Now our customers can receive access to Lexi-Comp's existing referential content and our new transactional products, seamlessly integrated into one package. This offering provides tremendous value to those that have historically purchased data and referential content separately and from different suppliers." Kerscher continues, "Our goal in entering the drug data market is to harness technology and knowledge to deliver innovative and consistent solutions that solve the frustrations experienced today. We will tailor the products to provide the relevant knowledge support to the appropriate healthcare provider's workflow, reducing and hopefully eliminating alert fatigue while improving patient outcomes. We look forward to working with our partners and customers to drive improvements in how healthcare is delivered."
Available delivery formats include an easily implemented Software Development Kit powered by Java™ or .NET APIs, or database tables that are compatible with Oracle®, SQL Server®, and MySQL®.
