Aastra, a leading company at the forefront of the enterprise communication market, announced today that Covad Communications, a leading national provider of voice and data communications, has tested and certified the AastraLink Pro™ 160 IP-PBX compatible with Covad Integrated Access service.

The AastraLink Pro 160 is a Linux-based appliance that hosts Asterisk® open source PBX software, delivering all the standard PBX/Key system features and functionality while leveraging a host of new IP-based services. With built in capacity for up to 50 users, the AastraLink Pro combines all the benefits of open standards with enhanced IP-PBX telephony technology to deliver affordable and world class communications solutions for North American small businesses and channel partners.

A scalable and affordable solution for Small Business, targeted at the 25 users or less marketplace, the AastraLink Pro 160 enables users to quickly and easily get phones up and running. The AastraLink Pro 160 will auto discover and configure any of Aastra's 13 different SIP phones, as well as Aastra's MBU 400 wireless DECT offering.

Also with this news we are releasing an addition to the Aastra reseller learning tool set which will help in the configuration of the AastraLink Pro with the Covad service offering. Resellers should ask for more details on the Covad version of the 'How to configure SIP Trunking Guide' manual."
